My Growth Journey – Monali Gadakh

My life journey is a story of resilience, learning, and constant growth. I did not come from a background filled with comfort or opportunities. Instead, my early life was shaped by financial struggles and limited resources. My family was dealing with ongoing loans, and because of that, stability was something we were always trying to achieve, not something we already had.
Growing up in such an environment made me understand responsibility at a very young age. I learned to be emotionally strong and aware of situations around me. One of the biggest influences in my life has been my elder sister. She took on responsibilities beyond her age, completed her education, and supported our family financially. Watching her struggle and still stay strong gave me a sense of discipline and determination that stayed with me.
Academically, I was never a top-performing student. My marks were average — 57% in my 10th, around 60% in 11th, and 49% in 12th. But over time, I realized that my strengths were not in marks but in my ability to learn from real-life experiences, adapt to situations, and build meaningful connections with people.
After completing my 12th grade, I decided to start building practical skills. I took up courses like MS-CIT and began working in my sister’s business. That was the beginning of my professional journey. It was not big or glamorous, but it was the first step toward becoming independent.
A major turning point in my life came when I got the opportunity to move to Dubai. This opportunity came with the support and guidance of my mentor, Sudendu Shah Sir, who believed in me when I was still trying to find my direction. Moving to a new country was exciting but also extremely challenging. The initial days were full of uncertainty, setbacks, and emotional pressure. There were moments when I felt lost, but I chose to stay committed and move forward.
In Dubai, I started working in back-office operations. Gradually, I took on more responsibilities and moved into auditing roles. This phase helped me grow professionally. I improved my communication skills, understood work processes, and learned how organizations function at a deeper level.
One of the most important phases of my journey was when I stepped into a leadership role. I was given the responsibility to manage a team of seven people. I trained them from the basics — how to communicate, how to handle work, and how to approach different situations. This experience changed me. It made me realize that I was capable not just of working, but also of leading and guiding others.
However, my journey was not without challenges. At one point, an unexpected incident disrupted everything. Work slowed down, resources became limited, and the team struggled to perform. It was a difficult phase, and I felt uncertain again. But instead of giving up, I chose to face the situation with patience. With the guidance of my mentor, I managed to overcome that phase and slowly regain stability.
As I continued working consistently, my efforts started reflecting in my growth. I transitioned into administrative roles and eventually was promoted to the position of Administrative Operations Manager. This was a significant milestone for me. It was not just a designation — it was proof of how far I had come from where I started.
My journey also received recognition on a larger platform when I was honored with the administrative Excellence Award by Dubai Headlines News 24. This achievement meant a lot to me because it represented years of hard work, struggles, and growth. It showed me that even someone who starts with nothing can reach a place of recognition with the right mindset and effort.
Apart from my professional life, I always focused on improving myself personally. I maintained a disciplined lifestyle, stayed active, worked on my fitness, and kept learning new things. This balance helped me stay focused and grounded.
Emotionally, my journey has been equally important. I have faced situations where I felt low, where I lost confidence, and where I had to rebuild myself from zero. But those phases taught me the most valuable lessons. They made me stronger, more aware, and more confident in handling life.
Today, when I look back, I realize that my journey has never been about perfect success. It has always been about growth. Every challenge I faced turned into a lesson. Every setback pushed me to become better.
I stand today as someone who has learned to turn problems into opportunities. I believe that success is not defined by where you start, but by how you continue, how you adapt, and how many times you rise after falling.
My story is not just about career growth. It is about personal transformation becoming stronger, wiser, and more determined with every experience.
